archie rogers
Paintings

Paintings combine many elements pulled from life and imagination by the subtle trails they leave behind in our mind. They are things we can’t forget and a discovery for what it might mean. I have a deep interest in making tactile objects, paying great attention to surface and material, allowing compositions to arise from the marks already present on found materials.

Photographs both capture and suggest time. They can project as much as record. They have their own language and voice. They can be loud or quiet. Photographs ask questions of what we see and how we see. They can record, observe, remark on something or tell us something. Or even just be about the pleasure of taking the time to look.

A recent Fine Art graduate, I’ve learnt to have an open approach to making work, embracing the unexpected outcomes that come with using different techniques and media. I enjoy creating textures with paint and chalk in layers, much like how a video is edited and spliced together. My Echium series of paintings came from my interest in the botanical plants that grow in Cornwall.

kelly tyndale
Mixed Media

I like to use the Japanese concept ‘wabi sabi’ as a way to describe my thought process and style of art - the thought or view of finding beauty in every aspect of imperfection in nature. I love the fragility of cracks, layers and natural form. In my opinion these are undervalued and I try and showcase these in any way I can.
